Caroline and I made some cupcakes tonight. She really held the mixer. I was so proud of her. She was a great bakers assistant, however, she did keep dipping her fingers in the bowl. Caroline also got a little treat as well.
I have to say that Caroline was the cutest bee I have ever seen. Her costume was just beautiful. We had a great time meeting up with a few friends. Caroline trick or treated for the 1st time, road the spooky train, and really enjoyed the carousel. She also ate her 1st twix, dots and lots of other goodies. Here are some pictures of the night.
I made this sweet Thanksgiving outfit this weekend. For the pants and some of the turkey applique I used the pretty fall tri-color check fabric and finished the trim with green fringe balls. For the shirt I used the lettuce shirt that I sell and also trimmed the sleeve with the green fringe balls. At the neck I used the same green ric-rac. I can add these trims to any shirt. I think it really completes it. Sometimes people are afraid that they have too many white shirts that are appliqued and this just gives it a whole new look. I plan to do some for some of Caroline's Christmas shirts as well. This is a new turkey that I purchased about a month ago. I am doing this same turkey for a friend but in fun bright colors. This turkey comes in a smaller version, so if you want to add the child's name or maybe even "Gobble Gobble" its a perfect size.
Caroline will not getting a new room for a while now, but I have been collecting some wonderful finds. Today we went to the fall festival at Ross Bridge and found this beautiful distressed frame. I will be ordering a lot more in ivory and other colors in the near furture for her room and in other places in my house. The prices of these frames are an absolute deal. Please check their website out. You will not find these frames for a better price any where else
Caroline and I had a busy week this week. Kindermusik, Moms Day Out, Playdates, Church Festival, Ross Bridge Fall Festival Here are some pictures of this past week....
Caroline'sKindermusik teacher told me about a fun activity she did with her daughter when she started potty training. A Potty Party! She said that for about 2 weeks she told her daughter that they were going to be having a potty party. On the day of the party she baked cookies, and wrapped up her big girl undies and gave them to her as a gift. When the time comes.....we will be having a potty party. Cupcakes, balloons, big girl undies, pony's .......the works! I have picked out our potty. We will be getting the Bjorn Potty Chair in of course PINK! Genius!
These pants are still in the works, but I had to show them. I still have to sew the top and put the elastic in. This fabric was so hard to get. It is sold out every where. I was the only person to get any of this fabric at my local fabric store. I was only able to get 4 yards, so if you like this fabric you better hurry! I will be doing a shirt to go with them and will show them later.
We just got these cotton pants with ruffles in yesterday. They come in pink, lavender, bright pink, green, teal, brown and red. The pants are $12.99. They come from the same supplier as the shirts, so they go perfect together.
